Compassionate, intuitive and engaged, Alison is a healer with a passion for Eastern Medicine. After 17 years as a photo editor for magazines such as Esquire and Golf Digest, Alison made the switch to acupuncture when she realized how powerful the medicine could be through her own experience with Chinese Medicine.
She is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine (DACM) and licensed acupuncturist (L.Ac.) & herbalist in the States of New York and Tennessee with board certifications through the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). Alison is also certified as a facial rejuvenation specialist.
Her clinical experience ranges from assisting women through childbirth in the labor and delivery ward at Lutheran Medical Center/NYU Langone in Brooklyn, New York, to working with veterans in order to provide pain relief and pain management at the VA Hospital in Manhattan. She is committed to a lifetime of learning and continues her education with a Graduate Mentorship Program under the widely revered acupuncturist and herbalist, Sharon Weizenbaum of the White Pine Center, in addition to studying Chinese Herbal Medicine for Dermatology under Mazin Al-Khafaji of the Avicenna Centre in the UK.
Alison is able to support her patients and work with them to achieve their healthcare goals. She believes in an integrative approach and has seen firsthand that when you allow Eastern and Western medicine to work together, clinical outcomes are greatly improved.
